          Born in Rimini, he starts studying piano at a very young age, moving then to singing, graduating at Pesaro’s Conservatorio Rossini under Robleto Merolla. Still a student, he wins the 2nd prize at the Ferruccio Tagliavini competition, the 1st prize and the “Teatro dell’Opera di Roma” and “Orchestra Sinfonica della Karinzia” prizes at the R. Zandonai competition, as well as the 1st prize and the “Circolo Lirico G. Verdi” prize at the Gianfranco Masinicompetition in Reggio Emilia.

           He made his debut in the title role of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, in concert at the Musica Riva Festival in Riva del Garda (conducted by Isaac Karabtchevsky) and, in October 2001 at the Wexford Festival in Dvoŕak’s Jakobin, prized with a grant and recorded live by Fonè. His Italian debut was at Comunale in Bologna in Barbiere di Siviglia and at San Carlo in Naples in Tancredi. He sang his first Conte Rodolfo in La Sonnambula at Teatro Regio in Parma, at Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna and at Teatro Bellini in Catania, where he also sings Colline in La Bohème, which he also sang in Parma and at Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo with Torre del Lago. He made his debut as Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor at Carlo Felice in Genova, conducted by Fournillier, directed by Graham Vick (published on dvd by Tdk), as Leucippo in Zelmira at the Edinburgh International Festival (recorded live by Opera Rara), and in Handel’s Giulio Cesare at Teatro Comunale in Bologna, conducted by Rinaldo Alessandrini. Another highly successful portrayal was his debut as Ferrando in Il Trovatore at San Carlo in Naples, in Busseto, at Stuttgart’s Staatsoper, in Thessaloniki and, with Teatro San Carlo on a Japan tour. He sang Oroe in Rossini’s Semiramide at Teatro Regio in Turin and at the Rome Opera, and made his debut at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino with Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, which he sang also at the Spoleto Festival, at Teatro delle Muse in Ancona and at San Carlo in Naples.

           On the concert platform we remember also Mozart’s Requiem in Turin, Rossini’s Stabat Mater at Teatro Bellini in Catania, Mozart’s Kronungmesse conducted by Christopher Hogwood in Bologna and Verdi’s Messa da Requiem in Mexico. He appeared several times in Recital for the Rosenblatt Series in London at St. John's Smith Square with pianist Vincent Scalera.

           Among his recent engagements: Puritani in Avignon, Adelaide di Borgogna at the Edinburgh International Festival, Diluvio Universale at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London, Pia de’ Tolomei at Royal Festival Hall in London, La Bohème at Teatro Verdi in Trieste (conducted by Daniel Oren), La Forza del Destino (Guardiano) in Bern (St. Petersburg version, 1862), Lucia di Lammermoor for his debut at Liceuin Barcelona and for As.Li.Co., Giulio Cesare at Carlo Felice in Genova, Otello (Elmiro) at Rossini Opera Festivalin Pesaro, Clemenza di Tito at Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Rossini’s Stabat Mater under Alberto Zedda in Pesaro and Bolzano, Capuleti e Montecchi in Moscow, Cavalli’s Rosinda in Potsdam and Bayeruth, Pietra del paragone (Conte Asdrubale) in Sassari, Petite Messe solennelle under Riccardo Chailly in Leipzig and London, his debut at La Scala with Rossini’s Stabat Mater conducted by Chailly, Guillaume Tell and Caterina Cornaro at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Donizetti's Maria Stuarda at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Lucia di Lammermoor in Avignon, Lucrezia Borgia (Alfonso) in Liege, Viaggio a Reims (Lord Sydney) conducted by Kent Nagano at Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Mozart's Don Giovanni (Masetto) at La Scala, Mozart's Requiem at La Fenice in Venice, Zelmira, Demetrio e Polibio (Polibio), Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle in Pesaro, Il diluvio universale (Noè) at the St. Galler Festpiele (with dvd recording).

           Among his future engagements: Italiana in Algeri (Mustafà) and Un giorno di regno (Barone di Kelbar) at ABAO in Bilbao, Puccini's Messa di gloria with ORT under M° Carella, La damnation de Faust at the St. Galler Festspiele (with dvd recording), Don Giovanni (Leporello) at the Dallas Opera, Linda di Chamounix at the Liceu in Barcelona, Il Trovatore (Ferrando) in Koln, Lucia di Lammermoor at the Washington National Opera, at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and at Teatro Massimo in Palermo.
