Born in Catania, he gets his degree in Lingue e letterature straniere moderne. He starts his vocal studies dedicating at first exclusively to ancient music. Afterwards, discovered his attitude for lyric repertoire, he studies under the guidance of baritone Carlo Miliciani. He attends masterclasses with bass Simone Alaimo and mezzo Elisabetta Fiorillo, as well as Patrizia Vaccari for early and baroque music. He's studying now with baritone Meinard Kraak, teacher at the Den Haag and Utrecht conservatory. Since february 2008 he follows the courses at the Opera Studio of the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam.
His debut as a soloist takes place in 2005 with Atelier Internazionale della Musica in Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle for the Festival del Barocco della Val di Noto, and for the opening of the Orchestra della Libera Università Kore in Enna.
The following year, in may, he sings the role of Don Diego in Gomes' Colombo, first european performances, recorded by Bongiovanni, for the opening of Teatro Bellini's symphonic season. This was followed by Alessio in Bellini's La Sonnambula at Bunka Kaj Kan in Tokyo and at Aichi Geijutsu Gekijo Theatre in Nagoya and, for the Bellini Festival, Orosmane in Bellini's Zaira for the Amici della Musica and for Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania.
In April 2007, with Camerata Polifonica Siciliana, he performed Mozart's Requiem. The following month, in Rosenheim, he sang the role of Commendatore in Mozart's Don Giovanni. In november he gave a Recital at the Auditorium Principe Felipe in Oviedo (Spain) organized by the Opera de Oviedo and then he sang Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle at the Auditorium S. Domenico in Caltagirone for the Natale Musica Festival.
In April 2008 he made his debut in Verdi's Messa da Requiem at the Muziekcentrum Frits Philips in Eindhoven, and in Nabucco (Zaccaria) at the Kunstmin Schouwburg in Dordrecht. The following month he was invited to take part in some Mozart concerts organized by the Opera Studio of the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam. In July he sang Traviata in Groningen with Noord Nederlands Orkest (conducted by Jan Willem de Vriend) and he gave a Recital with russian and german songs and arias for the St. Leonard de Noblat Festival in France.
Among his recent engagements: Verdi's Macbeth (Banquo) at the Amsterdam Konzertgebouw, Handel's Coronation Anthems at the Grotekerk in Den Haag, I Capuleti e Montecchi (Lorenzo) at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova directed by Robert Carsen and conducted by M° Donato Renzetti, Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg and Fidelio at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Faust (Wagner) at Teatro Bellini in Catania, I vespri siciliani (Bethune) at Teatro Regio in Parma directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi and Madama Butterfly in Jesi, Fermo and Brindisi.
Among his future engagements: I vespri siciliani (Bethune) and Tosca (Angelotti) conducted by Gianandra Noseda, as well as La Traviata (Dottore) directed by Laurent Pelly at Teatro Regio in Turin, Gemma di Vergy (Rolando) and Maria di Rohan (De Fiesque) at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo.
