
Born in Pisa, he starts his musical studies in his hometown as a pianist. His passion for opera starts while he was in the chorus of Teatro G. Verdi in Trieste, leading him to study singing in Modena with M° A. Pola and then in Genova with tenor Luciano Saldari.
He makes his debut in 1985 as a soloist, immediately specializing in character tenor parts: Goro, Pong, Pang, Truffaldino etc... In 1989 he sings in Spoleto, under M° Spiros Argiris, the role of 1. Jude in Strauss' Salome for the Festival dei Due Mondi. The excellent results lead him to explore even more Strauss' operas: Der Rosenkavalier, Ariadne auf Naxos in Catania and Genova. In 1993 he sings Alfred in Johan Strauss' Pipistrello conducted by M° Peter Maag at Teatro Bellini in Catania, followed by Danilo in Lehar's La vedova Allegra at Teatro Filarmonico in Verona.
Since 1992 he's a regular guest at Arena di Verona starting a long collaboration which will lead him to take part in many important events such as the world tv relay of Aida in 1999 directed by M° Pizzi and conducted by M° Daniel Oren and, in 2002, Aida directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
In 2001, for the bicentenary of Teatro Verdi in Trieste, he sang the role of Vafrino in Giovanni Simone Mayr's Ginevra di Scozia , recorded live by Opera Rara.
During his career he had the pleasure to collaborate with such distinguished conductors as: Giuliano Carella, Zoltan Pesko, Bruno Bartoletti, Maurizio Arena, Nello Santi, Ralf Weikert, Yuri Aronovich, Spiros Argiris, Peter Maag and Daniel Oren, who enriched his experience and formed his artistic personality.
Among his recent engagements: Adriana Lecouvreur (Abate di Chazeuil) conducted by Donato Renzetti at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Prokofiev's Semën Kotko conducted by Alexander Vedernikov at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, La Traviata (Gastone) at Teatro Comunale in Florence, Turandot (Pong) at the Arena di Verona conducted by Giuliano Carella and directed by Franco Zeffirelli, Turandot (Pang) at the Greek Theatre in Taormina.
Among his future engagements: Fanciulla del West (Trin) conducted by Bruno Bartoletti and Turandot (Pong) at Teatro Massimo in Palermo.
